One Day at a Time

Filed under: Uncategorized — Barb @ 8:13 am

I’d like to thank my many friends for all the cards, phone calls, flowers and many words of love and support.  They have helped me through all the long difficult days of the last few weeks.  Jason, you are beautiful. The time you spent with me filling in the blanks of Joe’s life, the photo book you put together and the gathering of all of Joe’s friends from far and wide was so touching.  The beautiful poem you wrote about Joe expressed so many things we were all feeling.  The line that went “we only saw what we wanted to”  expressed how I was feeling in such a simple yet beautiful way.

My concern for Luke continues, we are very much conected now and I will never give up on his recovery.  THe battle with drugs and alcohol is a difficult one.  I am powerless over it all but I do see so many that have overcome it, and I tell myself my child can overcome it too.

Today I’m back to a more normal routine.  I have a bead class at 11a.  David has 12 ladies coming to a special 2hr clay class at 12p.  They will be invited to watch a bead demo too.  Hopefully they’ll be inspired to become beadmakers themselves.

The E Lansing fair app went in yesterday via Zapplication.  I’ll enter Charlevoix too, but that will be it for art fairs this yr.  I think I told you I’ll not be doing Ann Arbor fair this yr.  David is opting out of it too.  I do love the travel to new cities and seeing all my art fair friends, but this economy is really getting bad at  shows.  The Kalamazoo show is coming up on Feb 28th.  Nice to have a road trip.  Thanks for checking in all, just wanted you to know I’m still here.  Have a good day, Peace , BK~

I Regret to Inform You……

It is with the heaviest heart that I write these words but I wanted to inform my blog readersof this.  My oldest son Joe has passed away.  He was 31.  He took his own life by hanging in my youngest sons apartment in Ann Arbor on Thursday night.  All your many prayers and phone calls have helped me beyond works.  Life is Precious.  BK~

Greetings Beadheads! First post in ages!

Hey there to all!  Sorry about the long absence.  I’ve  been thinking of you all but was feeling like I did’nt have alot to report.  Not that my life is dull but the winter humdrums have set in.  I’ve not been to the studio to make beads at all in the month of December, I think you all understand that.  The planning and shopping and baking and cooking and gift buying and house cleaning and the day to day go to work thing really keeps a lady busy!  Now it’s January and life gets back to normal.  I have two new students taking my class.  It’s been fun, especially when students grasp the concept of melting glass and within an hour or two are mking large round beads.  If you are wondering “Studio Saturdays” from 10a to 1p are open and anyone can stop in and see what’s happening.

The Garge Sale in Kalamazoo is fast aproching the end of Feb and I will have lots of new beads to look at and lots of cheap beads to buy.  Thanks to friends Patty and Betsy for stopping by the house and purchasing beads for their bead projects.  Stay warm all, (the heat just kicked on again in the house) hopefully this cold freakin’ weather will blow out of town soon.  Lotsa Love, BK~
