Foggy Day

Filed under: Uncategorized — Barb @ 6:22 am

Greetings from foggy Manchester.  The weather sure is doing it’s thing.  Now today it is 50 mph winds instead of the 60 degree weather yesterday.  That’s why you gotta love the mi weather, if you don’t like it,  it’ll change.  Sorry about the weird format of the pics on this site lately.  I think the pics were way too many pixels.  I hope everyone can relax now that Christmas is over.  I have had my fill of menu planning and shopping and cooking, although I just may put together one more jello salad.  Who new Joy of Cooking would have 3 pages on “about gelatin”.  Gotta fly. Happy New Year and Thank You To All My Friends and Customers!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Barb @ 6:31 am

It was a really great to see all my friends and customers at the art fairs this year.  Just to see people I recongnize from past years coming back to say hi means so much to me.  Although I did’nt do alot of shows this summer, the ones I did were fun and a road trip is always exciting.  For 2009 I am thinking a little differently in terms of shows.  First of all I am not going to do Ann Arbor this yr.  As you all know $1000 is alot to pay out  for a booth fee.  I only did about $3000 so well, if it don’t make money it don’t make sense!  I will be applying to a few different shows like Lake Winona in Indiana, Charlevoix, Lansing, and a few more I haven’t made my mind up about yet.  Of coarse the Kalamazoo Garage Sale show is coming up in Febuary. more about that later.  Now that all the hulabaloo is over with Christmas I plan on getting back to the studio to start on a new and exciting batch of new beads.  I’ll be taking apart all the stuff that did’nt sell last year and putting together some outstanding new pieces to start the new shows with this summer.  I am sorry about my neglect of this web site…I think it’s been about a month since I posted a thing!  Fed Ex has been longer hours than usual and getting the house decorated and the menu planned and prepared for Christmas Day, wll it has sapped my energy.  This morning the temps are in the 50’s!!  I feel regenerated and ready to start planning for next year.  As I said in the opening statement you all mean so much to me.  Just seeing your friendly faces and chatting gives my life a lift!  I will not be such a stranger and as soon as I get myself back to the studio I will be posting new beads.  Wishing you all a wonderful New Year!!  Lotsa Love!  BK~

Free Jamaican Radio 106 FM Streaming Live from Kingston, Jamican

Filed under: Uncategorized — Barb @ 7:47 am

Can’t stop listening to http:www.go-jamaica.com/power/  this is a talk radio station with sprinkles of ska and lots of attitude from the Jamaicans themselves.  I must say Jamaicans are the most polite people and it’s interesting listening to their problems and solutions to the many things they must deal with.  Sundays they play beautiful gospel music.

Later today I’ll be at the studio making beads, then some final gardening.  Have a great day!  BK~

Hey Cupcake!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Barb @ 9:28 am

While I’d like to be in the house making cupcakes, I’l acually be outside doing the tons of yard work I’ve got ahead of me.  This cool weather is perfect for yard work.  The banana trees you’re all sick of hearing about have to be cut down (emotionally tramatizing) and mulched with straw and wrapped up.  Woodchips will be hauled up from the road where the tree crews left a giganic pile (I love free stuff) and dumped in enclosed garden and vegtable garden.

Classes are still going on at the Bead Studio on Saturdays, 10a-12:30.  Feel free to stop by and check it out, 319 Morgan st, one block west of the Manchester Library.  Hope you all have a lovely day!  Be productive!  Thanks for checking in!  BK~  PS. Will the woman that ordered the ivory beads please call me at 734-428-8513?  I’d like some closure on that!
